The choir

The Canterbury Cathedral Choir is one of the finest in the world. It comprises thirty boy Choristers, aged eight to thirteen, and twelve adult lay Clerks.

The fees to attend St Edmund’s School and be part of the Canterbury Cathedral Choir are currently around £16,000 per pupil each year.

The Canterbury Gift is seeking to build up the Music Endowment Fund so that individual ability and potential are the sole criteria for entry.

Each of Canterbury Cathedral’s thirty boy Choristers learn to play two musical instruments during their four year spell with the Choir.
