Ken Follett at The Cathedral

20 April 2010

Multi-million selling author Ken Follett and his wife Barbara, a Labour MP and Government Minister for Communities, visited Canterbury Cathedral this month. His tour of the Cathedral took in the Cathedral's Stained Glass Studio where he was able to learn about medieval conservation techniques at first hand.

After attending Evensong, Mr Follett gave a talk to around 170 people in The Cathedral Lodge in support of The Canterbury Gift. His two books, "Pillars of the Earth" and "World Without End" are about life in the fictional medieval Kingsbridge Cathedral. First published in 1989, "Pillars of the Earth" still sells more than 100,000 copies a year in the United States alone. "World Without End" was published last year and is Mr Follett's bestselling book ever.
